Up, Up and Away
Trusting God’s Word for guidance in child discipleship.
Object: An airplane figurine
Nahum 1:7
In some ways, parents are like airplane pilots. You are taking your family on a journey through life. But this is not an aimless wandering around through the skies! You have a destination in mind. You want your children to grow up to be healthy, happy, faithful followers of Jesus, and some day, you want your children to trust Christ for salvation and be ready to join you in Heaven, your ultimate destination.
An airline pilot has to be well prepared for his responsibility with training and instruction. Parents don’t get this training before entering parenthood so they need to rely on something greater than themselves. Much like a pilot needs to use and trust his instrument panel, parents need to use and trust the Bible as their instrument panel. If we follow the Bible and do what it says, we will be able to keep our family on course and arrive safely at our Heavenly destination
