Faith at Home Talks Introduction

These object lessons can be used for child dedications, faith-at-home talks, sermons and other teaching events. They are created to break from the mundane “sameness” of ceremonies and make it more personal, memorable and applicable. This approach gives the unexpected benefit to remind parents and the church congregation of essential principles related to family and parenting.

Born With a Silver Spoon

A child born into a Christian home with Christian parents is given an unusual and unique benefit. This child is graciously placed into a spiritual wealth that parents can maintain over the years in order to pass along a spiritual heritage far more valuable than any physical heritage passed along. Children given a spiritual heritage from their parents will grow up with an understanding that God is real and the Bible is true. The environment of faith they have at home gives them an advantage in navigating the doubts, questions and struggles they will face in their lives.

You Can’t Make Time

Do you ever feel like you’re running out of time? We have many demands on our time and we know we should prioritize time to pray with and for our kids, read the Bible, attend church and be involved with our kids on a daily basis. You can’t create more time or find more time, but you can TAKE time. Taking time from another activity or obligation can allow us to occasionally step into God’s eternal NOW, apart from the distractions, pressures and demands of life and just be present in God’s gift of the here and now. This is a unmeasurable gift to our children and ourselves.
