The Arrow in Your Quiver

$1.00

Preparing children to live a godly life.
Object: An archery trophy
Psalm 127:3-5

In Psalm 127, the Bible reminds us that children are a gift from God. They are a blessing. Psalm 127 also says that children are like arrows in the hands of a warrior. How is this little child like an arrow in a quiver? In Biblical times, a warrior didn’t stop by the local sporting goods store to pick up a machine made, mass-produced bow and arrows. A bow and arrows were very carefully crafted by hand. The arrows were painstakingly fashioned from stone, wood and feathers so that they would fly straight and true. It took time and effort to fashion an arrow. Having a quiver full of arrows was certainly prestigious and represented a great deal of difficult, intentional work and preparation. Then, when the warrior was ready to shoot that arrow, it would fly straight and true. A warrior could be very proud of a quiver full of well prepared arrows. And he could be confident that they would do what they were intended to do.
